Interview coaching reviews
I sought Elizabeth’s help after repeatedly hitting a brick wall with my job hunting. I rarely got offered an interview and never got a job offer. I work in the public sector and found competency-based interviews to be a mystery. How do you apply the STAR technique without a photographic memory, and without sounding like a scripted robot. Elizabeth not only answered these questions but also took a critical look at my CV. I found the videos of our mock interviews hard and uncomfortable viewing, but they made it much easier to see and hear where I was going wrong. I highly recommend getting videoed, no matter how much it makes you cringe. Unlike interview books, and some coaches, that expect you to memorise ‘100 great answers’, Elizabeth takes a different and far more sensible approach. She teaches you what makes a great answer and how to formulate it easily, while also emphasising tone, body language and enthusiasm. Following our coaching session I went to my next interview feeling far better prepared and more relaxed. I was not only offered the job, but also offered a salary higher than advertised — without negotiation. I have seen a few interview coaches now; the only one I’ll be going back to is Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is an excellent coach with clear and insightful understanding of employer needs and candidate skills. I thoroughly recommend the Skills Clinic to scaffold, structure and massively sharpen up interview technique and quality of response.
This will give you more confidence as well as understanding of yourself and your skills. As a result of coaching from Elizabeth for three different roles, I have been successful in portraying myself in the most authentic and optimal way possible, securing three promotions thanks to this input. Thank you Elizabeth!
Client – Liz Bennington
Elizabeth’s advice was quite simply brilliant. She provided extremely valuable insight into the responsibilities of the role I was interviewing for and how I could better represent my skills. I would recommend coaching to anyone who struggles to represent themselves well during the interview process. I have had three sessions with her over the last three or four years and each one has helped me take a jump forward in my career. I just secured a senior role after giving an apparently top-scoring interview. Thank you Elizabeth.

Career position and application coaching reviews
I can’t recommend Elizabeth highly enough for job application and interview coaching. Elizabeth has not just helped me to get three or four new jobs or promotions over a five-year period — she helped me, over this time, to completely transform my professional identity from one based on technical knowledge to one focused on wider leadership and strategy, while still retaining and building on my technical expertise. As part of this process, she helped me to develop an interview-ready narrative about the soft skills I already had, but didn’t always know how to craft into a good response to interview question.

I had the pleasure of working with Elizabeth during a key stage in my career, and I can’t recommend her coaching highly enough. She created a supportive, insightful space where I could reflect honestly and gain clarity on my goals and direction. Elizabeth has a remarkable ability to identify blind spots and gently challenge unhelpful patterns, which helped me grow both professionally and personally. Her guidance played a big part in helping me secure my new role, and I’m incredibly grateful for her expertise and encouragement. If you’re looking for someone who listens, understands and empowers you to move forward with confidence, Elizabeth is the coach you want in your corne.

Elizabeth strikes a really good balance between frank feedback and positive encouragement. She really helped me focus on the strategic importance and personal impact of my interview stories, and to deliver them clearly and crisply. I got the job. Public sector head of communications.

Civil Service interview coaching reviews
Elizabeth was recommended by a colleague and it was an excellent recommendation. Elizabeth really knows her stuff. She obviously has a lot of experience in dealing with Civil Service interviews of a variety of types and at a range of grades. Her knowledge and experience meant that I immediately trusted her judgement. She took time to understand where I felt I had gaps, but supplemented this with practice interview questions. It was obvious from her feedback that she was able to identify areas for development that I had previously not considered, but which immediately rang true. Her approach meant that I felt I was getting genuine interview practice, but with “in the moment” feedback and discussion, which was invaluable and beautifully delivered. Elizabeth was hugely supportive both within and outside of the sessions, which was genuinely confidence building. In the event, I was unexpectedly successful in my application. I recognised from the positive feedback some of the areas that we had worked on, which was gratifying. I had measurable confirmation that seeking her advice had been absolutely the right choice. But even if I hadn’t been successful, it would still have been the right thing to do, because the added confidence I now hold in going into interviews will be a benefit that lasts.

I am so grateful to Elizabeth for helping me to get my dream job in the civil service. I had thought that I just wasn’t very good at interviews, but Elizabeth gave me the confidence and skills to excel in an interview setting. She provided advice for how to answer both competency and strength-based questions, she helped me to select my best examples, and she gave me honest feedback while also building up my confidence. It was amazing how much she was able to squeeze into a session, which she recorded so I could reference later. My sessions with Elizabeth were expensive, but it was honestly the best money I spent all year. I will undoubtedly go back to Elizabeth the next time I’m preparing for a job interview, and I would highly recommend Interview Skills Clinic to anyone looking to advance their career.

One of my best decisions was to contact Interview Skills Clinic. Elizabeth was such a great help. The advice she gave me in focusing my experience to the Civil Service was invaluable. The work she did beforehand really made our sessions constructive from the start. Reviewing my responses helped me memorise the important aspects for the interview and, yes, I was successful. Elizabeth gave me the edge to feel confident and control my nerves on the day.

Confidence and career change reviews
I struggled in interviews for over a year and after being unsuccessful in over 20 interviews, I decided to give interview coaching a go. I found Elizabeth incredibly helpful. She was able to highlight the challenges I was facing and provide really useful suggestions on how to make improvements. I had two sessions with Elizabeth and I’m pleased to say that the second interview I went for after working with her. I was offered a position. If you’re hesitant about the fee, I understand, but it really is a good investment in yourself. I even recommended Elizabeth’s coaching to my husband and after one meeting, he got a job offer the very next interview he went for.

After resigning from a job in difficult circumstances, I got lots of interviews, but no offer. My anxiety and worry about being perceived as unreliable probably showed in the interviews and held me back. I saw Elizabeth hoping to understand what I was doing wrong and found the session extremely helpful. I was offered a job after the next interview. Elizabeth’s advice made all the difference to my preparation and self-perception. I recommended her to my partner, who was also offered the next job she interviewed for after seeing Elizabeth, having also had several interviews before with no offer. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth’s services, which have made a huge difference to us.

I’ve never been very good at traditional interviews, as I find the pressured set-up of question-immediate-answer does not work well with my brain. I prepare really well and research deeply, but I often end up doubting every word I’m saying. In our first coaching session, I felt awful. I couldn’t answer the questions properly, ended up rambling and there might even have been tears. But Elizabeth was so patient and professional, as well as humanly kind. She helped me understand what the interviewer is really looking for, not just the way the question is phrased. At the same time, I had another interview for a completely different role, and everything I had learned with Elizabeth just sat comfortably in my mind. I can honestly say I excelled, and I got the job after two more stages. The recordings afterwards were extremely awkward to watch, but ultimately a great tool for development. If you think you’re rubbish at interviews, invest in yourself here.

After successfully going through the sift for an SEO position in the civil service, I wanted to complete as much preparation as possible. I hadn’t had an interview in the past 13 years and my skills and confidence were needing to be much improved upon. I found Interview Skills Clinic through researching and after an initial consultation with Elizabeth, I was impressed with her knowledge and expertise in the civil service process. I then worked with Claire over the course of three sessions, each building upon my answers and giving me more confidence to handle all eventualities that could come up. Claire was excellent throughout, providing a deep understanding of the whole interview structure, what they were looking for and how it should come across. During the interview, all the questions that Claire prepared me for came up and I was able to answer them confidently. I was successful, receiving a phone call the next day offering me the job and I cannot thank Claire and Interview Skills Clinic enough for their efforts. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking their dream job and would defiantly use them again.
I had been applying for vacation schemes and training contracts at law firms for a while. Whilst I had been successful in getting through to assessment centre stage, I was struggling when it came to the interview portion of these days. I had a couple of sessions with Elizabeth Conley a couple of days before an assessment day with a leading international law firm. It was really useful and she was able to pinpoint exactly where I was going wrong fairly quickly and gave me a number of useful tips to try in order to rectify this. I was able to use this in this interview and was offered a place on the vacation scheme. I would definitely recommend the Interview Skills Clinic to anyone aiming for a vacation scheme or training contract, it was very helpful!
Hi Olivia, you did really to be offered the vacation scheme. As we both know get a vacation scheme or training contract is very challenging. The vacation scheme experience will help you in your next training contract interviews, and sometimes law firms offer Training Contracts at the end of the Vacation Scheme. Keep in touch and let me know how you get on. Thanks for the review.
I came across Interview Skills Clinic a few years ago while searching for a career coach and contacting them was the best decision I ever made. I realised I needed help with my CV and improving my interview skills.
I’ve had my CV and LinkedIn profiles reviewed on two occasions by them. Firstly, by Elizabeth Conley whose excellent interview coaching helped me land a great role with a leading registered provider. A few years later, I was headhunted by a recruiter for an asset management firm and again approached ISC for a review of my CV and interview coaching. Jane Gill was my interview coach this time and her amazing guidance also meant I secured the role. Both times, Elizabeth and Jane showed me how to best reflect my skills in my CV to the roles I was applying for and make my achievements stand out. Prior to my first session with them it was well over 8 years since I applied for a new position and my CV and interview skills had gone ‘stale’. They gave me that alternative perspective which I needed to show in my CV how my skills would be relevant to the role I was applying for. I credit them both with helping me to improve my interview skills to secure my new roles both times and greatly improved my confidence. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking their next career move.
Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. Both Jane and myself were delighted to work with you and so pleased to hear of your success. It is difficult in the current climate to invest in yourself and your career so I am so pleased you say the success you wanted. Keep the video recordings and you can look back at them when you are applying for the roles in the future. For now, enjoy the new challenge.
Elizabeth and her team were recommended by a colleague and it was an excellent recommendation!

I have a job which is unpredictable and she was very flexible in finding both times and a medium that would work for me.
In the event, I was unexpectedly successful in my application. Thank you Elizabeth!
Thank you Nicki. You deserved the success you achieved and make time for coaching around a gruelling work schedule and travel. You are much better than you think you are and I hope this results confirms this and builds your confidence. I look forward to working together in the future.
I have recently worked with Chista and Elizabeth and found the whole process extremely informative and supportive. Chista provided some really great insights into the drafting of my personal statement and application form which really helped me to understand and respond more effectively to the skill requirements outlined in the job description.
Equally, Elizabeth’s support in prepping for interview guided me in constructing answers that ensured I presented my experiences in the most effective way. Elizabeth’s feedback on a presentation that was part of the selection process was also invaluable and I went into the interview feeling confident and well prepared. Not only did I secure the position but I have come out of this experience armed with knowledge and frameworks that I can apply to any future positions that I go for.
The process was challenging but their encouragement and wisdom gave me the assistance to step up and provide an application and interview that really hit the mark. A huge ‘Thank you’ to them both!
Hi Evie, thank you for your generous review. Chista and I were so pleased for you. It was a challenging process but you did it through all your hard work during and between coaching sessions. Well done. We look forward to working with you again on your next promotion. Enjoy the new role and challenge 🙂
One of my best decisions was to contact Interview Skills Clinic. Elizabeth was such a great help. The advice she gave me in focussing my experience to the Civil Service was invaluable. The work she did beforehand really made our sessions constructive from the start. Reviewing my responses helped me memorise the important aspects for the interview and yes, I was successful and due to Elizabeth and Interview Skills Clinic as this gave me the edge to feel confident and control my nerves on the day.
Hi Richard, many thanks for adding a review. It was a pleasure to work together and your success was much deserved. Until next time, enjoy the challenges ahead. Elizabeth
I am very lucky to find the InterviewSkillsClinic! Genuinely, I cannot recommend working with the InterviewSkillsClinic enough! From the start to the end of the sessions!
First, I contacted Rebecca, and she organized a meeting with me immediately to understand my needs and helped me to plan my session with Elizabeth. Without Rebecca’s help and professional guidance, I think I could miss the chance to work with the InterviewSkillsClinic. I had three sessions, one of them with Elizabeth and two of them with Georgina. Before the sessions, Elizabeth and Georgina worked on the job advertisements I applied before and I got interview invitations to prepare for potential questions I would face during the interviews. They gave me time to prepare myself for the questions while using the star technique. In the first session, Elizabeth and I worked on the questions and my answers. After this session, I felt like ‘yes, I found the right coach for my interview preparation’. After Elizabeth’s session, I worked with Georgina. Before our session, first, Georgina watched my recorded session, which was with Elizabeth, and prepared additional questions to work on together. She helped me with my interview presentation preparation as well. I cannot explain her help enough. Both of them are highly professional and meticulous. After working with the InterviewSkillsClinic, I’ve got a job offer! If you are looking for an interview coach, choose the InterviewSkillsClinic. If I look for new job opportunities in the future, I certainly will work with Elizabeth and Georgina.
After a couple of failed internal interviews, turning to Interview Skills Clinic was money well spent when I recently got offered an internal promotion at the school I work at. Elizabeth knew her stuff, was quick to pinpoint my weakness and thus she helped quickly build confidence and improve technique. Thank you!
I’m so pleased for you. Keep the video recordings from the coaching sessions because you can apply the same technique to other roles in the future. You had all the skills and experience and just needed to promote yourself more.
Thank you Elizabeth for your help in preparing for the Civil Service interview. I got offered three positions in different departments after our meetings. Our sessions helped me get a better perspective in the way I had to approach the behaviour based questions. I have since recommended your services to some of colleagues looking to make a change. Thank you once again!!
A great result for you Shanthi, I am glad coaching made a difference. You had all the skills and experience you need and just needed a little to support to know what the interviewers are looking for and how to promote yourself for the role. Good luck with your new role.
I thoroughly appreciate the insights and constructive challenge Elizabeth Conley (Founder | Senior Interview Coach) gave me to support my ambition to achieve promotion in the UK Civil Service. Her advice and our 1-2-1 coaching sessions were critical to my career progression.
Hi Kebur, many thanks for your comments. it was a pleasure to work together and I am so pleased you got the success you deserve. Hopefully we will have a chance to work together in the future.
